What is a young carer?

Young carers are children and young people under the age of 18 who are taking on practical and/or emotional caring responsibilities normally expected of an adult, and can include anything from cooking, shopping and housework to administering medication, assisting with personal care such as washing or dressing, interpreting, physical support such as lifting and even emotional support or looking after younger siblings.

Free confidential psychological and wellbeing interventions for common mental health problems (anxiety disorders or depression).

Referrals are accepted from people aged 18 years and over who are Richmond residents, or non-Richmond residents who are registered with a Richmond GP. This includes those in temporary accommodation in the borough.

👁️Community Urgent Eye Care Service (CUES)

The South West London Community Urgent Eye Care Service (CUES) provides urgent assessment, treatment or referral for sudden onset eye problems such as flashes, floaters, vision loss or minor eye injuries.

This service is available for patients registered with a Merton, Wandsworth, Richmond or Kingston borough GP.

Symptoms that can be seen under the service include:

• Red or painful eye or eyelids
• Recently occurring flashes or floaters
• Recent and sudden loss of vision
• Foreign body in the eye

If you have very minor symptoms you may be advised to self care or seek support
from your local pharmacy first.
